Canadian biathlete-turned-mountaineer Haldan Borglum, 26, has achieved a new Fastest Known Time (FKT) by climbing all 58 peaks above 11,000 feet in the Canadian Rockies. He also became the youngest climber ever to complete the challenge.
Borglum began the project in June 2024 and reached the final summit just a couple of weeks ago, completing the entire list in two years and six days—beating the previous record of 5.5 years by a significant margin.
The climbs took place across the Canadian Rockies in Alberta and British Columbia, featuring some of the range’s most iconic mountains, including Mount Robson, Mount Assiniboine, Mount Columbia, and Mount Alberta.
“To maximise efficiency, I linked several peaks together in multi-summit pushes, including a rarely completed multi-day traverse connecting Mount Robson, The Helmet, and Resplendent Mountain,” Borglum explained.
